Google Apps is the latest step towards Google’s new claim which it calls “in the cloud”. They say that the future is only of the Internet. They refer to it as the“Cloud” and everything will be available online. More and more people are storing their data (such as documents, calendars, email, and photos) online “in the cloud” with services like Google Apps. All that you need is an Internet connection to access and share that information with friends, family, and co-workers. The latest trends in the laptop industry is the Cheap easy to carry “Net-books”. These are very handy small devices which are becoming excessively popular in the US. All they are used for is browsing the Internet. You can connect via Wi-Fi or by LAN. They are fully dependant on Internet but there is no place in US where you cannot access the Internet. Though in India the Internet felicity is still years behind. The term cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet, based on how the Internet is depicted in computer network diagrams and is an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it conceals. Cloud computing customers do not generally own the physical infrastructure serving as host to the software platform in question. Instead, they avoid capital expenditure by renting usage from a third-party provider.

To take on the biggest software provider of the world, ‘Microsoft Corp.’ and to stop their monopoly,Google has also announced Google Chrome Operating System, which is basically hoping to cash on the success of Net-books. It has claimed that every net-book by late 2010 will come with the Google Chrome OS. Google owns several companies including YouTube and Grand-Central, and Google Apps which may integrate across the family of Google companies. Google will not leave any open option for Microsoft to be the market monopoly holder and harass the consumers, and I see Google succeeding in that in a very small time period.
